In 2015, Tameka decided to surprise her mate, Dwayne, with a trip to the Dominican Republic commemorating his 40th birthday. But, unbeknownst to her, Dwayne’s birthday would not be the only cause for celebration. At the resort, Tameka arranged an intimate dinner for two on the beach. She and Dwayne followed a candlelit path along the sand to their table, where a mariachi band played a vibrant rendition of “Happy Birthday.” The two of them delighted in the experience, enjoying each other’s company.

Dwayne decided that he wanted to give a speech showering Tameka with gratitude, and suggested that she ask the waiter to capture the moment on video. Tameka reluctantly obliged.

Dwayne began his speech, thanking his significant other for being such a wonderful mother and partner. As the waiter recorded the intimate moment, Dwayne knelt before Tameka and presented a ring. She was stunned!

The couple initiated plans for a lavish outdoor wedding to take place in the fall of 2017. As the day approached, they were alarmed to learn that a 100% chance of rain threatened to drive the nuptials indoors.

Rain poured for the entire morning on the day of the wedding, and ceased about forty minutes prior. A team of people scrambled to set the scene, and the sun miraculously shined just long enough to complete the ceremony.

The wedding took place at Morais Vineyards and Winery in Virginia, so guests were gifted custom wine openers to honor the occasion, and a box positioned in the foyer held gold “Rescue Flats” and “heel bags” for the ladies, with a sign that read “Dancing Shoes! Find your size and take a pair!”.

The bride and groom surprised guests by joining their children for a fun family dance to Chicken Noodle Soup by Young B and Webstar. Loved ones delighted in succulent menu options, and danced into the evening.
