Vendor Team
What was the reason for the celebration?
It was a Peter Rabbit inspired baby shower full of details to celebrate the upcoming birth of my son who was actually born on the day of the baby shower as he came 5 weeks early and I had to reschedule the shower and make it extra special.
What is something fun you remembered either about the process or the big day?
It was crazy because I just came out of the hospital and could barely walk as I just had a c section but was determined to celebrate Myles Oliver.
Anything super unique about the big day?
Oh yes all the details!! Wooden bunny dessert sticks with his name in the middle, wooden bunny sticks for favor succulents for guests to plant, wooden paper wheelbarrows made as cupcake holders, a hanging special blue dyed babys breath chandeliers.
Any tips you would share with others planning an event?
Its all in the details and guests are delighted at discovering little custom details that bring your theme to life.
The Location
Vizcaya Park Miramar. I picked this venue because I lost my original venue because I had my baby on that date and this was the only venue available.
The Fashion
How did you pick your event day outfit?
Absolutely custom and made by mom. I did not want to wear blue so I opted for ivory and designed the dress myself and my mom made it. I wanted an off the shoulder look with tulle for days with delicate flower petals with pearl centers to keep my garden theme.
You Event Style
What inspired your theme/style?
My palette was rustic themed Peter Rabbit in a garden with touches of light blue blue, gingham, garden and wood decor.
Party Details
What inspired your party style?
I designed everything myself. For centerpieces, I had wooden slabs with a plush mini peter rabbit pushing a metal wheelbarrow with mini vegetables in it with a small garden fork in the rabbit’s hand. In front were light blue baby blocks spelling baby and to one side was a wooden vase with soil and garden vegetables and brassica a flower that looks like lettuce and on the other side a metal urn vase with baby’s breath flowers.
Describe your cake/desserts.
These were awesome and all themed. There were cake pops shaped like garden vegetables on custom wooden sticks, mini cake jars topped with gingham wrapped with jute and a wooden spoon in mini mason jars, mini mason jars with crumbled Oreos and orange chocolate-dipped strawberries that looked like carrots, carrot printed bags with orange jellybeans tied in green raffia and sugar cookies decorated in gingham in different shapes of the theme.
The cake was a regular flavor but the topper was custom a dark skinned Peter rabbit and mother rabbit.
Favors?
Yes… mini metal pails with succulents with a custom wooden stick with the babys name engraved. Mini cake jars with gingham and a wooden spoon. Carrot printed bags with orange jellybeans.
