Bridal Shower: Brittney’s Goddess Themed Bridal Shower

With Brittney’s big day around the corner, what better way to celebrate, than with a intimate Greek goddess themed bridal shower! It was only right, that we found out all the details about this all white studded event!

What is something fun you remembered either about the process or the big day?
Planning something we knew would be memorable for the Bride. We knew she wanted something clean and fun, but also memorable.

Anything super unique about the big day?
We had all the guest wear white, instead of the Bride. We wanted her to stand out and feel special so we did a private reveal of the space with her bridesmaids and gave her an opportunity to enjoy the space before all her
guests arrived.

Any tips you would share with others planning an event?
Stay to true to your Bride and how she would like to celebrate the days leading up to her wedding day. Also, allow the bride some time to bask in the day. Enjoy her guest and the decor elements of the day. It’s flies by so fast.

How did you pick your event day outfit?
We wanted something where she would stand out and look like a Goddess, so the gold sequin and gold headpiece was a perfect contrast with the all white.

What inspired your theme/style?
Clean, crisp and all white with a touch of gold. Just wanted to keep it classic and elegant.

What inspired your party style?
We wanted to have a Greek Goddess themed outdoor dinner, inspire by Santorini and the simplicity of the flowers and decor really helped pin the the full style of the bridal shower.

What menu items did you serve?
Menu was suggested by the caterer when we decided on the Greek Theme Appetizers Passed small bites
– Fruit Kabobs
– Deviled Eggs w/shrimp and or crab meat
– Greek style turkey meatball lollipops w/ a spicy yogurt sauce

Dinner-Plated
-Fresh Salad w/mixed greens, onions, peppers, black olives, tomatoes, and feta cheese served with a lemon balsamic dressing -served in small white bowls
-Layered yellow rice with peppers, sautéed coconut collards, and curry Cod topped with a cream sauce and capers.

Family Style
-Chopped lamb Mediterranean style served with a rich brown sauce -Roasted jerk Hennessey chicken thighs w/ a mango pineapple cucumber relish -Honey ginger lime shrimp w/ a sweet and sour sauce
-Oven roasted garlic potatoes
-Sautéed veggies w/ peppers, and onions

Describe your cake/desserts.
Cake was real! And REAL yummy! We added a cake topper with the greek feel. Made by ButterCream Bakeshop in Washington DC

How did you come up with your event day playlist?
90’s R&B, fun enough to dance and bring back the nostalgia but clean enough for the family members

Favors?
Stemless wineglasses provided by Bridehive which served as favors and place setting for guests.
