The Cator Woolford Gardens served as more than just an engagement location for Casey and Eddie. The deeply rooted trees are a symbol of their growing love. The couple did two different looks at the garden and we love them both!
How did you two meet?
Eddie and I met in the 6th grade and became best friends. We both played sports and had a little crush on each other, but I was very adamant about not having a boyfriend since my dad was the football coach. We settled for being dates to the 8th grade formal and pretty much dismissed our little romance until our senior year of high school.
Our relationship grew stronger as we walked each other to practice after school every day and our six-year friendship became rekindled puppy love. While sharing shakes after a football game, he asked me to be his girlfriend and we’ve been inseparable since!
I’ve always called Eddie my ELM tree because of his initials and he’s super tall and lanky! A tree, however, has been our symbol for our love for each other because it’s steadily growing and rooted in Christ.
On our first Christmas together in high school, Eddie gave me a necklace with a tree emblem that said “all things grow with love”. I still wear my necklace 8 years later and we both have tattoos of identical trees that super impose and complete the other. Our tree is so special because as trees grow the roots continually dig deeper into its foundation and you must be rooted in Christ, always seeking the light and understanding that you can withstand the wavering seasons as they come and go to help you grow.
I can truly say that our love has grown beyond measure but #MorrisToCome.
Tell us about the perfect proposal.
One beautiful fall day in 2016, Eddie and I had lunch at Ponce City Market and then walked to Piedmont Park to “study.” Little did I know he planned an engagement shoot and asked me to be his forever!
For the engagement session, why did you pick the location that you choose?
We chose the engagement location based on a list our photographer, Ashley, gave us that were accessible for our dog.
How did you pull off the perfect look? Was there a theme?
There was not a theme. We chose our look because we took engagement photos a year prior, but we wanted to add a formal look this time.
How is the planning going?
The planning process has been hectic at times but overall, things seem to be coming together quite nicely.
Any vendors making the process a breeze?
Our photographer and caterer are making the process a breeze. They have been really receptive to our wants and needs for a successful day.
Thank you for sharing your engagement photos, Casey and Eddie! We cannot wait to see photos of your big day!
