Kid’s Party: Cassidy’s 5th Birthday

What was the reason for the celebration?
The celebration was for my daughter’s 5th birthday.

What is something fun you remembered either about the process or the big day?
The birthday girl had some special requests for her girls only soiree, which were all cohesively weaved into the fun, fab, five theme, and party activities. Cassidy loves girly fun, and she and her friends enjoyed plenty of it playing with dolls at our “tutus and toys” station, makeup at the “glossy and flossy beauty bar”, and even enjoyed a mini ballet class where they all got into formation with matching leotards and tutus.

Anything super unique about the big day?
The theme and overall concept of the day was super unique because it was a true mash-up of everything Cassidy loves from the activities to the food to the color palette to the music and favors. Everything was reflective of her and she loved every minute.

Any tips you would share with others planning an event?
I would encourage others planning an event for children to really sit down and ask the child what they want. I literally had a mini client consultation with Cassidy, so the day could be about her and not solely driven by ‘event planner mommy’. From little things, like her wanting to pass out stickers to her friends and her wanting them to wear purple leotards, I wanted to make sure those things happened. Even at 5, she has a voice and a vision, and it was a lot of fun to elevate that for her.

The Location
We picked our home because it’s a place filled with love that we enjoy entertaining in. We completely transformed the front of our home for the party space and didn’t have to worry about the timeframes that often come with renting venues. The girls had fun for hours and the vendors had ample time to set up and break down.

The Fashion
How did you pick your event day outfit?
For Cassidy’s Fab 5, I knew her outfit had to be Fab, so I called upon the talented Andrea of Pantora Mini. We selected a beautiful purple and pink party dress with a full skirt, mini rosettes, and a flattering open-back design.

Party Details
What inspired your party style?
Who says entertaining at home has to be boring? Not us! To ensure this soiree was not only beautiful but functional for the birthday girl and her friends, we transformed a space in our home into a fun and fab party paradise. One area of the room housed adorably styled kids tables, complete with pretty place settings, fresh flowers, and personalized coloring sheets. To further enhance the space, a gorgeous greenery wall adorned with paper flowers and branded signage, served as the backdrop.

What menu items did you serve?
The birthday girl has 3 favorite foods – chicken nuggets, pizza, and hibachi chicken with fried rice. Needless to say, since it was her Fab 5, she got to have her favorite foods. To further personalize the meal experience, we created Cassidy’s Cafe and passed out menus to all the girls so they could choose their ‘kids meal’, which included options of chicken nuggets with sides of tator tots and fruit; pizza and salad; and hibachi chicken with fried rice. The girls loved pretending they were at a real restaurant and ordering their food, which we ordered from Cassidy’s favorite restaurants (Chic-Fil-A, Ledo Pizza and Sakura Japanese Steakhouse).

Favors?
To thank the girls for celebrating with Cassidy, each guest took away a custom favor box that included a few of Cassidy’s favorite things. The boxes included a LOL Surprise, stickers, cookies, candy, a printed affirmation that the birthday girl says every night before bed, pearls, and more.
