We had a chance to sit with Laura and Jean and learn all about their big day. One thing we loved was the use of white and purple floral decor throughout their big day.

How did you all meet?
We met in high school, I was a sophomore he was a junior. His cousin introduced us and after speaking to him for several hours on the phone I knew he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. He popped the big question at pier 66 in fort Lauderdale beach, FL.

Where did you all go on your honeymoon?
Our first honeymoon location was to the Bahamas and 2 weeks later we went to St. Lucia.
Any tips you would share with other couples getting married? Tips that I would share to other couples getting married is to try your best to remain calm , pray together and for each other, and just be there for each other.
What was your planning experience like?
My planning experience was a roller coaster. I enjoyed it sometimes and hated it sometimes lol.
I hired Magnificat Designs as my planner and floral designer. Together with the day of coordinator, they did an exceptional job.
Where did you wed and why did you pick the venue/site?
We got married in West Palm Beach at Lakeside Presbyterian Church. I chose that location because it was a beautiful church and it would help my pictures turn out Amazing. Our reception was at the Riviera Marina Event Center. We also chose it because it was a beautiful venue and was in a nice location to take pictures.
The Fashion
Tell us about the wedding dress!
My dress was absolutely gorgeous. I loved everything about it. My overall style was mermaid with straps. It was and ivory dress, that was beaded with pearls , rhinestones and crystals. I had a soft glam look for my makeup and I wore my hair down with big volume curls.
Describe the Groom’s and Groomsmen look
The groom wore an all black suite with roses engraved on the tux and the vest he wore under. His shirt was all black with gold buttons. He had a black bow tie and gold/black cufflinks. His shoes were all black with roses engraved on them as well. The groomsmen wore all gray suits, with white dress shirts and purple ties. They had brown shoes.
Your Wedding Style
What inspired your theme/style? What was your color palette? Why was it important to you?
I originally wanted a Greek goddess theme. Finding the right colors became a nightmare. So I settled for some close to Greek romance and glam with greenery. My colors were purple, gold, mauve, blush, and ivory with greenery.
Ceremony & Reception
Tell us about your ceremony décor.
My wedding planner/designer, Magnificat Designs did a great job decoration the church. There were two tall floral arrangements on white pedestals up front. They added led pillar candles and white lanterns all around the white pedestals. They added sheer voiles on the pews and a lot of led pillar candles down the aisle inside white lanterns.
During the ceremony did you use and religious or cultural elements or traditions?
We are Christians. So it was a Christian based type of ceremony. We also did the sand ceremony.
What menu items did you serve?
We had a buffet style wedding . We served salmon, chicken marsala, fried Turkey, and chicken breast. We have macaroni with ground beef and yellow rice with peas.
Describe your cake.
My cake was a 4 tier round cake with 2 tiers with strawberry flavor and the other 2 had a vanilla flavor.
Favors?
Yes we did. I choose little gold and clear bottles that said “our sweet beginning” filled with a nice sweet Haitian alcoholic drink called “Cremas”.
